Berga
Berga - Collection J . Careaga
This ship, instead of being sold in 1941 to a shipping company controlled by Germany, like the previous ones, was sold to the British Government, which appointed Elster Dempster Lines as her managers, emerging unscathed from the war. In 1949 the British Government sold her to a British shipping company, which in 1955 sold her to a Brazilian one. She always kept the name under which she was launched, except for three years from 1923 to 1926, when she was owned by a British shipping company and renamed Barflo. Under the Brazilian flag she lasted less than a year, since on 05/January/1956 she was shipwrecked near Maranhao (Brazil) during a trip from Sao Luiz to Río de Janeiro with genetal cargo.
There is another version according to which she was also sold to Transcomar in 1941, and she was finally scrapped at Bilbao in 1948. In the Lista Oficial de Buques of 1942 she appears as owned by Transcomar, on the other hand, did not change her name or to German flag like the rest. For all this, her true story is not clear, but the follow-up that can be done through Lloyds is the one indicated in the first place.

As can be seen, several ships were sold to Transcomar, the commercial name of the Compañía Comercial Marítima de Transportes. This shipping company was actually owned by the German Government, through front men, and was dedicated to supplying the German forces in North Africa and the Mediterranean, especially in the Greek islands, which is why several of them were sunk in that area. The two that changed their names had changed to German flag in 1943.

Compañía Auxiliar Marítima Limitada
In 1955 was created a shipping company to flag ships abroad. She owned four ships, although only three at a time since the first one acquired sank after only four years. It disappeared in 1970, with the scrapping of the last of them. The first two were flagged in Costa Rica, the second of them passing to the Panamanian flag after the first sank. The remaining two were flagged directly in Panama.

Cigoitia
Cigoitia por F. Estrañi
In 1972 it had a brief resurgence, with the construction of a Freedom Hispania type ship, which was one of the types projected to replace the Liberty ships built during the Second World War. Several ships of this type were built in Spain, but only two for Spanish shipowners, one was this one and the other the Aiboa< /a>, owned by Naviera Galea.
Apart from these, the construction of six for the Chilean shipping company Empresa Marítima del Estado stands out. Three were built in the same shipyard as the two Spanish ones and another three in Unión Naval de Levante, at Valencia. All of them were named after lakes: Lake Llanquihue, Lake Rinihue, Lake LanalhueLake Puyehue, Lake Maihue and Lake Hualaihue, the first three built at Seville and the last three at Valencia, also being in chronological order.
